50 Shades of Grey: Picking the Right Grey

Looking to do grey walls? Grey is just white with a spot of black, right? Wrong.

Gray is one of the most complicated colors out there. It’s so complicated a new word had to be coined, greige, to describe a combination of beige and grey. This complex color can be cool, warm, or somewhere in between and look different in varying lights. The nuances to the color are extensive.

A cool gray can read blue, and a warm grey can read brown. Green even appears in some grey from time to time. The worst part is, a small swatch is not going to cut it when picking a grey. We recommend painting a large area of a wall before committing to your grey to truly see how it ready in the room.

Grey is one of the trickiest colors out there to get right, but the good news is, we know all about it and how to pick the best complementing color.
